1. By auction

How does the auction work?

Several paintings will be sold via live auction on the evening of Sept. 12 in Austin TX. The winner will be announced live in Austin on the 12th.

 

ONLINE BIDDING: 

If you are unable to attend, bids can be placed online at thefarwestshow.com. After you pay the $50 auction joining fee, you can place your bid. The online auction will end on Sept. 12 and if you were one of the highest bidders, you will be contacted by a FAR WEST employee to participate in the live auction on Sept. 12 by phone.

 

**If you participate in the sale and win then you are expected to complete the sale. Once a winning buyer is declared, the artwork is considered sold, and all sales are final.

How do I pay?

A deposit of $5,000 will be required at the time you accept your win via check, credit card, Zelle or PayPal. Your final invoice will be issued via email within 48 hours after the event, with wire and ACH options for payment being made available at that time.

How do I get my artwork?

Artwork will be available after September 29. FAR WEST has partnered with Johnson Moving and Storage to professionally ship artwork worldwide. Buyers can also organize their own shipping. 

2. By Ballot draw

How does a ballot draw sale work?

Nearly 100 artworks from 35 artists will be available for purchase. Prices will be posted, and interested buyers enter by putting their ballot in a box for each piece they’d like to buy. At 5:30 p.m. CDT on September 12 at Austin FAR WEST, we’ll draw a winner for each artwork.

 

ONLINE BEFORE THE EVENT

Purchase a Ballot Set at thefarwestshow.com for $50 to gain access to a special webpage where you can:

 • Select the the artworks you would like to buy (multiple entries allowed).

 • Set your purchase priorities if you win more than one.

 • Optionally set a total budget.
 

Online sales close September 8 so ballots can be prepared for the live drawing.

 

LIVE DRAWING AT THE EVENT

At 5:30 p.m. CDT, up to three names will be drawn for each piece. The first name has 10 minutes to accept or decline. If absent, FAR WEST staff act as proxies for online participants. If declined, the offer passes to the next name in order.

 

**Buying a Ballot Set is a legally binding commitment to purchase any artwork you win. If you win then you are expected to complete the sale. Once a winning buyer is declared, the artwork is considered sold, and all sales are final.

How do I pay?

You will be notified within 24 hours of the ballot draw if you have won the right to purchase an artwork.  All invoices up to $5,000 will require payment in full at the time you accept your win via credit card, Zelle or PayPal. For invoices over $5,000, you will be asked to authorize your credit card on file for the purchase price, or a 10% deposit if you prefer to pay by check. Payment by ACH transfer is also available. Full credit card and PayPal payments will incur a 3% fee to defray the fees charged to us.
